Army targets ISIS and al-Nusra in several areas, foils attack by ISIS in Homs
Provinces – Army and Armed Forces units continued targeting terrorists from ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra, and other terror groups affiliated to them in several areas across the country, SANA reported.
Daraa
An army unit carried out intensive bombardments against Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in Daraa al-Balad area in Daraa southern province, inflicting heavy losses upon them in the personnel and equipment.
A military source said that an army unit killed a number of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and destroyed a number of their positions that are fortified with machineguns and sniper rifles on al-Sad Road, to the south of Khazan al-Karak and to the east of al-Masri Roundabout and the Bakery alley in Daraa al-Balad.
Homs
Army units engaged in clashes with ISIS-affiliated terrorist groups after they inflitrated from the direction of Futhat al-Mahsa, Thanyiat al-Mzaibleh and al-Qaryatain Dam into the area surrounding the military posts in the area.
A number of terrorists were killed in the clashes and others were injured and their arms and ammunition were destroyed.
Damascus Countryside
Four of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists were killed in an operation carried out by the army against one of their positions in the far southwestern countryside of Damascus.
An army unit destroyed a machinegun-equipped vehicle belonging to Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists, killing four terrorists onboard in precise bombardments against their positions in the direction of Sasa-Beit Jin.
Deir Ezzor
Army units carried out concentrated operations targeting ISIS gatherings and movements in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor city.
A military source said that any army unit shelled gatherings and fortified positions for ISIS terrorists in al-Tharda Mountain west of Deir Ezzor city, destroying 2 tanks and a vehicle equipped with a machinegun, in addition to killing and injuring a number of terrorists.
The source added that army operations near the junction of al-Taim oil field southeast of the city led to destroying fortified positions used by terrorists to direct drones rigged with explosives toward military positions.
Hama
An army unit destroyed a bulldozer rigged with large amounts of explosives in al-Azib valley area in the eastern countryside of Hama province.
An army unit carried out an operation targeting the movements of ISIS terrorists in al-Azib valley area northeast of Salamiya city, which resulted in destroying a bulldozer rigged with explosive and vehicle for ISIS before they could reach their target.
