Army scores more achievements nationwide

PROVINCES, (ST) – Units of the armed forces on Saturday carried out operations against terrorists, eradicating  armed terrorist groups in several areas nationwide.

In Damascus and its countryside ,mop-up  operations were implemented  against terrorist groups’ dens in Nabek , surrounding of Maaloula , Rima farms in Yabroud , Deir Salman , farms of Douma and the towns of al-Mleiheh al-Qissa ,Harasta , Erbin, Zamalka , Joubar, Barzeh neighborhood ,al-Qaboun, Daraya city and al-Zabadani in Damascus countryside and city, resulting in the death of large numbers of terrorists, according to a military source.

In Lattakia, 24 terrorists were killed in the operations carried out by units of the armed forces in the villages of Marj Khoukheh and Saqiet al- Kert.

An explosive devices cache, a 23 mm anti-aircraft gun and 3 heavy machine guns mounted on cars were destroyed in Beit Ewan village, in addition to the killing of numbers of terrorists.

In al-Kbeir village, an army unit destroyed 4 Grad rockets and killed 19 terrorists, including leader of a terrorist group affiliated to the Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham, who is nicknamed Abo Omar al-Shawi, according to a military source .

Twenty-two other terrorists were killed and a mortar and a car laden with ammunition were destroyed in al-Rab’eh village, while a number of terrorists’ dens, cars and 2 Grad rockets were destroyed in Zahiyeh village.

Army units killed terrorists attempting to infiltrate from al-Sayyed Ali area to neighboring areas, destroying their dens, gatherings, missile launchers and cars loaded with weapons and ammunition in several villages and towns: al-Sheikh Saed, Khan Toman, al-Rashidin al-Rabia ,al-Jdeideh , Erbid Kafar Hamra, al-Dweihi, al-Mansoura, Andan and Masaken Hanano.

Other army units destroyed cars loaded with weapons and ammunition and terrorists in Arom, the surrounding area of the Central Prison and on Aleppo-Idleb highway.

In Homs countryside, All members of several armed terrorist groups were killed in the neighborhoods of al-Warsheh, al-Safsafeh and Bab Hood in the city of Homs and in al-Qabban area in Talbiseh .

A military source told the official news agency that the army eliminated gatherings of terrorists in Kissin in al-Rastan, Jabal al-Shaer and Syriatel hill, destroying a number of cars loaded with weapons to the south of al-Qariyateen village.

In Idleb, an army unit confronted armed terrorist groups that attempted to infiltrate from Ma’arshemsheh and attack a military checkpoint in Wadi al-Daif in Idelb countryside, inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorists.

The source added  that terrorists’ groupings  were destroyed in villages and towns of Jidar Bakfaloun, Mafraq al-Rweihiyeh, Serjeh and the surrounding areas of al-Arba’in Mounting, where many terrorists were killed and others were injured.
