Army regains strategic crossroads of al-Qaryatain in Homs, advances in Deir Ezzor

Provinces – Army and Armed Forces units continued on Friday carrying out counter-terrorism operations, regaining control of areas in Homs and advancing in Deir Ezzor, according to SANA.

Homs

Army units, in cooperation with supporting forces, regained control over the strategic crossroads of al-Qaryatain to the northeast of al-Qaryatain city in the eastern countryside of Homs, according to military source.

The source added that army units carried out intensive operations against ISIS gatherings and fortifications in which the army killed tens of ISIS terrorists and destroyed a number of their  vehicles, some of which equipped with machineguns and others are armored vehicles.

Later, a military source said that an army unit, in cooperation with supporting forces, restored control over Beir al-Mor to the southeast of the T4 Airport in Homs countryside.

 

The source also said that the Syrian Air Force eliminated scores of ISIS terrorists in al-Mashtal, al-Heer al-Gharbi Castle, and north of Jbab Hamad in the province’s eastern countryside.

Deir Ezzor

Army units, in cooperation with supporting forces, advanced in the graveyards area in the city of Deir Ezzor.

The reporter added that army units managed to isolate a number of points in the area which terrorists had infiltrated earlier, inflicting heavy losses in ranks and equipment upon ISIS.

Later, a military source said that the Syrian Air Force and the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed scored of vehicles including armored ones used by ISIS in the graveyards area, south of al-Ummal neighborhood, and in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor Airport.
