Army Recaptures 32 Towns, Farms from ISIS in Northeastern Countryside of Aleppo: Army Command

ALEPPO, (ST)- During their military operation against ISIS terrorist organization, Syrian army units in cooperation with supportive and allied forces have liberated more than 32 towns and farms, at a total area of 250 square kilometers, in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces announced on Thursday.

According to the Command’s statement, This achievement widens security range around the city of Aleppo and forms a starting point for enhancing military operations against ISIS. It also enhances army’s control over more areas and puts Aleppo-al-Bab highway, which link between the northern and eastern areas of Aleppo, under the army’s control.

 The combat units succeeded in breaking into ISIS most fortified positions, dismantling hundreds of explosive devices, destroying  tens of ISIS tunnels in the liberated areas and inflicting heavy losses of life and equipment on ISIS.

The command reaffirmed that it will press ahead with its national mission of fighting terrorism and stressed its commitment to its constitutional duty in protecting civilians and preserving the territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic.
