Army kills ISIS terrorists in Damascus Countryside and Aleppo, thwarts attack in Hama countryside

Provinces – Army and Armed Forces units set an ambush for a terrorist group affiliated to ISIS in al-Jarajir area in Damascus Countryside.

An army unit, in cooperation with supporting forces, planted an explosive device and detonated it as members of a terrorist group belonging to ISIS was passing near Abu Hudaij crossing in al-Jarajir barrens area in the western Qalamoun, which resulted in killing and injuring all members of the terrorist group, SANA reported.

Other Army and Armed Forces units thwarted an attack by ISIS in the surroundings of the Air Force Academy in Aleppo’s eastern countryside.

 

A military source told SANA that army units clashed with terrorists from ISIS in the direction of Hazaza and Tal Maksour villages in the surroundings of the Air Force Academy 40 km east of Aleppo on the highway to Raqqa.

The clash left 10 terrorists from ISIS dead and destroyed one of their machinegun-equipped vehicles.

Meanwhile in the northern countryside of Hama province, armed groups breached the truce regime by attacking positions for the Army and Armed Forces.

A military source said that during the past few hours, army units were engaged in violent clashes with armed groups that had breached the truce regime by attacking the army’s positions in Ma’an town in the northern countryside of Hama province from the direction of Attshan and Um Hartin.

The source said the clashes resulted in thwarting the attack after killing more than 50 of the attackers and destroying 8 heavy machinegun-equipped vehicles and an artillery position.

The source also said that an army unit, in cooperation with popular defense groups, killed 4 terrorists from “Jund al-Aqsa” and destroyed a vehicle and a car equipped with a machinegun as the terrorists were attempting to attack military positions in Khattab village and al-Rahba area from Zour al-Tibeh village in the northern countryside.
