Army inflicts heavy losses upon ISIS terrorists in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor – Army units, operating in Deir Ezzor, continued their operations against ISIS terrorist organization in the southern part of Deir Ezzor city and on the direction of al-Boukamal in the far eastern countryside of the province amid large collapse in the ranks of terrorists.

SANA said that army units, backed by Air Force and artillery, carried out intensive operations to eradicate the remnants of ISIS terrorists from the neighborhoods of al-Hamidiyeh, al-Jubaila, al-Rashidiya, al-Hawaiqah, al-Arfi and al-Sheikh Yassin, killing a number of terrorists and destroying their dens and fortifications.

 

SANA added that a number of ISIS leaders are calling on, via loudspeakers, the terrorists to withstand and to kill any member trying to surrender himself to army units.

On the direction of al-Boukamal city, army units destroyed sites, fortifications and vehicles for ISIS in Mehkan town to the south of al-Mayadeen city.

SANA noted that the Syrian Air Force carried out raids against ISIS sites and fortifications in al-Qouria to the southeast of Deir Ezzor city, killing a number of ISIS leaders including “Abu Omar Rawa”, “Abu Bakar al-Takriti” and “Abu Shaima al-Iraqi”.

SANA added that army’s engineering units continue to dismantle IEDs and landmines planted earlier by ISIS terrorists in the neighborhoods of al-Mattar al-Qadim, Kanamat, al-Rasafa and the Industrial Secondary School, the Industrial Institute, the street leading to Gassan Aboud rotary which been restored by the army on Tuesday.

Local sources said that the so called “Wasel Dabas al-Haroun” who is one of ISIS emirs in al-Qouria city fled away, adding that more of ISIS terrorists are attempting to escape in the eastern countryside of the province as a result of the army’s advance.

Meanwhile, the authorities uncovered a depot that includes materials for manufacturing explosive devices and bombs left by ISIS terrorists in Salamyah eastern countryside.
