Army General Command:Enemy War Planes bombard Scientific Research Center

DAMASCUS,(ST)-“Israel fighter jets violated our space at dawn today and carried out a direct strike on a scientific research center,at Jamraya district in Damascus Countryside, in charge of raising our level of resistance and self-defence,”the Army’s General Command said in a statement released by SANA on Wednesday evening.

The strike came” after terrorist groups made several failed attempts in the past months to take control of the site ,”added the statement.

Israeli war planes entered Syrian airspace via Jabal el-Sheikh at a low altitude and under the radar, the statement said.

“Israel carried out an act of aggression ,bombarding the site ,causing large-scale damage and destroying the building,’underscored the statement adding that two site workers  were martyred in the strike and five others wounded

Hence, the General Command denied earlier reports that Israeli jets had launched an air strike overnight on a convoy from Syria to Lebanon.

“the assault is one of a long list of acts of aggression and criminality against the Arab and Muslims.Such criminal acts won’t weaken Syria’s role regarding supporting resistance movements and the just Arab causes spearheaded by the Palestinian cause,’concluded the statement.
