Army foils terrorist attacks, kills scores of terrorists in several areas

Provinces – The Syrian Arab Army continued its operations against terrorist organizations across the country, repelling terrorists’ attacks and killing many of them in several areas, SANA reported.

Hama

An army unit, in cooperation with popular defense groups, thwarted an infiltration attempt by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorists into al-Mabou’ja village in the eastern countryside of Hama province.

 The army unit clashed with groups of ISIS terrorists who attempted to attack at dawn the innocent civilians of al-Mabou’ja village, in the eastern countryside of Salamiyeh city.

The army killed a number of ISIS terrorists and destroyed their vehicles, while the rest fled away into al-Badia, leaving their weapons and ammunition behind.

Last March, ISIS terrorists perpetrated a massacre against the innocent civilians of the village, claiming the lives of more than 50 ones, mostly women and children in addition to kidnapping a number of others.

Quneitra

An army unit, in cooperation with popular defense groups, eliminated a gathering of Jabhat al-Nusra members in Quneitra countryside.

An army unit directed concentrated strikes against a gathering of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization in the area surrounding the main square in the outskirts of Quneitra city, destroying an armored vehicle and killing a number of terrorists.

Daraa

A Syrian Army unit and forces assisting it engaged in heavy clashes with terrorists from “al-Muthana Islamic Movement” who attacked military checkpoints in al-Sheikh Miskin city in Daraa.

Army thwarted the attack, destroying 2 machinegun-equipped vehicles and killing 14 terrorists, including one of the leaders of al-Muthana Islamic Movement known as Abu Bakr al-Mohajr, in addition to Mohsin al-Salakhzat from Jordan, Saiel al-Ware’a, Mufid Abu Nabout, and Qassim Mohamed al-Salah.

Terrorist organizations acknowledged on their social media pages the killing of many of their members, including Zaid Moafak Abazid, Mohanad Ahmad Khattab, Ahmad Radi Abu al-Sil, Bashar Mohamed Shihada al-Natour, Mohamed Ryad Abad Rabo, and Ahmad Mohamed Qassim al-Bardan.
