Army establishes control over new areas in Aleppo and Damascus Countryside

Provinces – The army and armed forces continued on Sunday their crackdown against armed terrorist groups in different Syrian regions, seizing and destroying their weapons and killing many of them, SANA reported.

Aleppo

A military source announced Sunday re-establishing control over the Air Defense Battalion in the southwestern countryside of Aleppo province after eliminating terrorist groups of the so-called “Jaish al-Fatah” that had earlier infiltrated the site.

 

The source said that army units in cooperation with the supporting forces carried out a “swift and accurate operation” using different sorts of weapons, ending up with retaking the Air Defense Battalion.

The source clarified that members of the engineering units swept the area for bombs and defused explosive devices and mines left behind by the terrorists.

In the same countryside, the army destroyed training camps, positions and vehicles for terrorist organizations and killed and injured a number of their members in the villages of al-Ees, Maarata and al-Khalediyeh and to the west of Khanaser town and in al-Rashidin neighborhood.

Damascus Countryside

Army units established control over a number of farms to the northwest of Khan al-Sheeh and to the southwest of Zakia in Damascus Countryside.

Daraa

An army unit destroyed a den of terrorist organizations and killed a number of them in al-Naziheen Camp and al-Abbassiya neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad area in Daraa southern Province.

Homs

The Syrian army air force on Sunday carried out intensive sorties against gatherings and fortifications of Jabhat al-Nusra and the ISIS terrorist organizations in the northern and eastern countryside of Homs central province.

A military source said that a number of Jabhat al-Nusra gatherings and vehicles, some of which equipped with varied types of machineguns, were destroyed in the villages of al-Ameriya, Tal Dahab and al-Rastan City in the northern countryside.

The source added that a number of the ISIS terrorists were also killed in intensive strikes and their fortifications and machinegun-equipped vehicles were destroyed in the surrounding of al-Shaer Oil field, 120 km to the east of Homs City.

Deir Ezzor

More than 50 terrorists killed and 6 of the ISIS vehicles destroyed in airstrikes carried out by the army air force and in bombardments by the artillery and tanks in the surroundings of al-Panorama, to the east of al-Tharda airport and al-Jafra in Deir Ezzor province.

Hama

The army air force destroyed positions, dens and a number of tanks and machinegun-equipped vehicles belonging to the terrorist organizations and killed a number of terrorists in Khirbet M’arin, Mourek, al-Latamina, Taybet al-Imam, Tal al-Mintar, al-Masasneh and al-Samman in the countryside of Hama central province.

A leader within Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization, who is named Ahmed Abdul-Razzaq al-Hanash, was identified among the dead along with seven other terrorists in Souran. Khaled Abdul Razak al-Fares was identified among those killed in Lahya.

Idleb

Army Air Force targeted dens and fortifications for Jaish al-Fatah terrorists in Khan Sheikhoun and in the surrounding of Kansafra in Idleb countryside, killing a number of terrorists, injuring many others and destroying training camps, sites and a number of vehicles.

Lattakia

A number of centers, mortar and artillery positions and barricades belonging to terrorists destroyed in army air strikes in Kanzo Mountain, Tardin, Kafr Sando, Kinda, Marand and Qarfous in the northern countryside of Lattakia.
