Army Command Announced Formation of 5th Army Crops

 DAMASCUS, (ST)-The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces on Tuesday announced the formation of the 5th Army Corps of volunteers tasked with fighting alongside the Syrian army and its allied and supportive forces as to eliminate terrorism and restore security and stability countrywide.

The new procedure comes in response to accelerating events in Syria and in consolidation of the successes achieved by the valiant Syrian army in its battle to uproot terrorism from the territories of the Syrian Arab Republic.

 Army Command Urges Gunmen to Allow Civilians to Leave Eastern Aleppo

The army command has also called on gunmen in eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo to allow civilians to leave the area and stop taking them as human shields. It also urged the gunmen to remove the mines they placed in the corridors set up by the government.

“We have got the complete and precise information about the gunmen’s positions and depots and we are observing their moves in eastern Aleppo,” the army command said in a statement on Tuesday.
