Homs. (ST)- A team of Armenian state television is working on a documentary film about the crimes of the terrorist organization Da’esh (ISIS) in the ancient city of Palmyra and a number of governorates.
Director of the Documentary Section, Valtan Fancyan, said that the aim of the documentary is to convey what happened to the archaeological sites in Palmyra as a result of the attacks of the terrorist organization “Da’esh” to the Western public opinion to know the truth of the events that took place in Syria.
“The city of Palmyra, which once defeated the Romans, will remain a symbol of steadfastness in the face of any aggression against its human culture,” he said, praising the facilities provided by the concerned authorities in Syria for the team to complete the documentary.
For his part Cameraman, Arsène Khochayo, said that Syria has a great human heritage that deserves to be highlighted by the media for its historical and cultural importance throughout the world. He added that the documentary will focus on the crimes committed by terrorists and their attacks against the cultural history which belongs to all humanity.
“The documentary seeks to encourage all the international mass media to come to Palmyra and document the crimes committed by the enemies of culture against the archeological monuments in the city,” he noted.
Several foreign media delegations have visited the historical city Palmyra to prepare films and documentaries on the crimes committed by Da’esh terrorist organization against the locals and the archeological edifices in the city.
