Armenia will provide more than 49 million Armenian Drams, equivalent to approximately $126,000, in humanitarian aid to the Syrian people, in accordance with a decision taken by the Armenian government during its regular meeting today. The decision was made based on a proposal submitted by the Armenian Ministry of Interior, an Armenian newspaper revealed.
The newspaper indicated that 25 million Drams will be allocated for healthcare and pharmacy supplies and 23 million Drams for the purchase of household and general food supplies.
The newspaper explained that the humanitarian aid will be distributed to people affected by the situation in Syria, taking into account their basic daily needs.
Armenia sent humanitarian aid to Syria through the Margara crossing on the Armenian-Turkish border on March 21.
