Armenia Officially Recognizes The State of Palestine

The Armenian Republic has declared its official recognition of the State of Palestine.

“The catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza and the ongoing military conflict are key issues on the international political agenda that require a solution,” the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website today, according to RT.

The foreign ministry noted that the Republic of Armenia has joined the UN General Assembly resolutions calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

“We have consistently called for a peaceful and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue through various international platforms,” the Ministry added.

“On the basis of the above and in confirmation of its commitment to international law and the principles of equality, sovereignty and peaceful coexistence between peoples, we declare the recognition of the state of Palestine by the Republic of Armenia,” the Armenian Foreign Ministry continued.

On May 28, Spain, Ireland and Norway officially recognized the state of Palestine.
