Armenia, Iran for Stability in Syria

TEHRAN,(ST)_Both  Armenia and Iran stressed the importance of stability in the region, especially in Syria renewed the  call to halt  violence in Syria and resolve the crisis without other countries interference .

Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian stressed during a meeting with spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Ramin Mehmanparast in Yerevan on Thursday the importance of stability in the region, especially in Syria.

Mehmanparast reiterated Iran’s call to stop violence in Syria and resolve the crisis without the interference of other countries, the Iranian news agency “IRNA” reported.

Nalbandian expressed optimism over the results of the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the group of five plus one on Iran’s nuclear file, to be held on Friday and Saturday in Kazakhstan.

In a press conference, the Iranian spokesman called for halting violence in Syria and going to ballot boxes and election so that the Syrian people can determine their destiny.

“Iran defends peoples’s rights and democracy and considers elections as a good indicator to address the crisis in Syria.”The Iranian spokesman said.

He added that Western countries do not want to hold elections in Syria because they fear the results will not serve their interest.
