Armed terrorist groups block aid convoy to Yarmouk camp, says Palestinian sources

DAMASCUS,(ST)_The Palestinian Popular Committee has affirmed that the armed terrorist groups in Yarmouk camp opened fire on the UNRWA aid convoy and prevented the entry of aid to the camp.

In a statement released on Monday, the committee said the terrorists in the Yarmouk camp and their supporters insist on abducting and starving the camp’s locals and politically trade in their suffering.

“The armed terrorist groups opened fire on the aid convoy, which was carrying tons of food, when it arrived the east-southern entry of the camp causing the failure of a new attempt to ease the suffering of the camp’s locals,” the statement read.

It noted that the concerned side in the Syrian government had cooperated with the UNRWA to guarantee the entry of food aid to the camp.

The committee called on public opinion to unmask the armed terrorist groups and their supporters to put an end to the Palestinian people’s suffering.

In this context, the Palestinian Labor Minister Ahmad Majdalani said today that the armed terrorist groups prevented the entry of the aid convoy to Yarmouk camp whilst the Syrian government offered facilities to the convoy.

“There is an attempt to connect the Palestinian matter with the crisis in Syria. What happened today is an abortion to efforts and disclaimerfor promises made by the armed terrorist groups,” he added.

A few days ago, the Palestinian official shouldered the armed terrorist groups responsibility for the suffering of the camp’s locals. He called for respecting Syria’s sovereignty, security and unity.

His declaration was made during a meeting with Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Faisal al-Miqdad.
