Armed Forces Control Qara, Seize Terrorists Criminal Tools in Daraa

Provinces, (ST)-The armed forces continued successful operations across the country, eliminating large number of terrorists and re-controlling many areas.

On Tuesday, units of the armed forces imposed full  control over the city of Qara in Damascus Countryside after crushing the terrorists’ last groupings there.

In a statement to a local media, a military source  said that all the dens of the terrorists and their ringleaders were eliminated, while scores of explosive devices, which the terrorists had planted in neighborhoods, streets and houses, were dismantled.

The special operation, which the army carried out to seize control of Qara, took 24 hours and resulted in killing large numbers of terrorists, most of them are affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra and “Islam Brigade”, according to the field commander.

 Terrorists of Libyan, Saudi, Yemeni, Egyptian and Tunisian nationalities were identified among the dead, while some of the terrorists ran away towards Arsal town inside the Lebanese territories.

The commander said that during the inspection process in Qara city, the army soldiers found a “Sharia Law Court” which the terrorists had been using to prosecute the kidnapped, in addition to a prison containing torture tools and a field hospital with large amounts of stolen medicines and medical equipment.

The army units also seized scores of cars equipped with heavy machine guns, the commander added.

In Idleb countryside, units of the armed forces eliminated all members of an armed terrorist group, including ringleader of “Jabhat al-Nusra” there and destroyed 4 cars loaded with weapons and ammunitions in Binnesh area.

Two other cars loaded with weapons and ammunitions were destroyed in the areas of al-Salteh and al-Delleh roundabouts in the countryside of Maaret al-Numan.

The source added that all members of several armed terrorist groups were battered in the areas of Kafrlata, Maaret al-Numan, Harash, Nseibin and Tal Salmo.

In Daraa, the armed forces carried out many military operations in several villages and towns of the city’s countryside against the terrorists’ dens during which some of them were killed and the others were injured.

An official source told a local media  that an army unit seized two thermal rockets, two wireless communication devices, bullet proof face masks and stolen medical materials inside one of the terrorists’ dens in al-Hammadin neighborhood.

The source added that another army unit destroyed a rocket launcher which was used by the terrorists to attack the citizens and their properties.  

Furthermore, four citizens, including a woman, were killed and others were injured when terrorists fired two rocket shells on the Municipal Palace in Aleppo .

In Homs, a student was killed and another was injured by a mortar shell fired by terrorists on the Petroleum and Minerals Institute.

A source at the Police Command stated  that the terrorist attack also caused material damage to the institute’s building and equipment.

In Damascus,  nine citizens were injured by terrorists’ mortar shells that targeted al-Abbasyieen area and Baghdad Street in Damascus. Targeted area sustained material damages.

Other shells hit the internal  wall of the Umayyad Mosque and Aleppo street in al-Abbassyeen area, causing  material damage without any casualties, according to the source.

Terrorists also targeted houses to the east of al-Tijareh neighborhood by mortar shells causing material damages and injuries to citizens.
