Areas controlled by SDF militia in Hasakah suffer from chaos and insecurity

The areas of Al-Hasakeh governorate, in which the US-backed SDF militia” is deployed, suffer from chaos and insecurity, which caused the spread of crime, burglaries and theft that affected most of the service sectors, the most important of which is the electricity sector.

According to a source in the General Electricity Company of Al-Hasakeh, 15 percent of the transmission centers in the neighborhoods of the city of Al-Hasakeh and throughout the province were stolen, i.e. more than 1,000 centers out of the total number which is 7,000.

The source pointed out that the theft of electrical transmission centers within the areas, in which the SDF militia is deployed, led to depriving the people of electricity, as a result of the lack of capabilities and requirements for repair operations. The source indicated that the centers that are being repaired are subject to theft again, and all of this is taking place under the watchful eye of the “SDF” militia which spreads its checkpoints and armed points in most areas of the governorate.

In addition, the SDF militia resorts to imposing sums of money on the residents of the neighborhoods, and sometimes deliberately cuts off the electricity supply, and does not allow the repair of faults in the electrical network except in return for royalties on the household subscriptions, ranging between 1000 and 5000 pounds. SDF further deprives the neighborhoods that do not pay these royalties from the electric current.
