Archbishop Atallah Hanna: Zionist Lobby and its friends seek to remove everything related to the Palestinian cause
Archbishop Atallah Hanna of Sebastia for the Greek Orthodox has said that the Zionist Lobby and its friends are spread everywhere in the world and they seek to hide everything related to the Palestinian cause.
“It seems that the Zionist lobby and those who serve its racist occupation plot in our world are getting more ferocious and persistent in targeting everything that is related to the Palestinians, including Christian and Islamic sanctities and endowments,” the archbishop said in a statement to Syria Times e-newspaper.
He went on to say: “In the city of Sofia, the Bulgarian capital, the pictures of the sanctities of Al-Quds [Jerusalem], including the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and Al-Aqsa Mosque, were hung in the bus stations and they remained hanging there for several days until the Palestinian embassy there was surprised that they were removed by an unknown party. They were hung there again but they were removed after several days. This means that the Zionist hands reached to every place and what happened in Sofia may happen anywhere else.”
He pointed out that in the municipality of Sofia there are people who do not like the promotion of sanctities in the Palestinian territories, and they do not like presenting the Palestinian vision and emphasizing the identity, history and heritage of this holy land.
He called on the Bulgarian Church and all friends in Bulgaria to play their role in rejecting this policy and this Zionist influence.
“The Embassy of Palestine, as well as all embassies in Sofia, have the right to put posters about their countries. It has the right to hang posters about Christian and Islamic sanctities and encourage tourism. This is being done in coordination with the official authorities there,” the archbishop clarified.
He pointed out that the removal of posters in this way shows that there is a Zionist influence working to obliterate everything related to Palestine, its sanctities and heritage.
“All concerned parties must focus their attention on this act. Europe must not remain open to Israeli embassies and the Zionist lobby and must not remove any cultural work or paintings related to the Palestinian cause and Palestine . This is something that cannot be accepted in any way,” the archbishop added.
He concluded by saying: “It is not acceptable to surrender to this policy. If there are infiltrating institutions that are seeking to pass their agendas, this means that this situation must be dealt with in a wise and responsible way”.
