The occupied Syrian Golan (ST): Archbishop Atallah Hanna, Archbishop of Sebastia for the Greek Orthodox confirmed that the occupied Syrian Golan is a school of patriotism, as its sons reaffirm every day that the identity of the Golan will only be Syrian Arab.
Archbishop Hanna said in a statement to SANA news reporter: “I came to the occupied Syrian Golan to show solidarity with its people in the face of the Israeli settlement occupation’s plan to set up wind turbines on their agricultural lands in the village of Masada and the Hafayer area east of it, under the pretext of generating electricity from wind energy, but the occupation aims to displace the people of Golan from their land and homes.”
Archbishop Hanna stressed that the Golan Heights is a school of patriotism, as its children affirm day after day that the identity of the Golan will only be Syrian Arab, pointing out that their opposition to the turbine plan represents a patriotic stance par excellence to preserve the occupied Syrian land and prevent the occupation from Judaizing it.
Archbishop Hanna stressed that the enemy is one and the struggle is common in confronting it, starting from Jenin, which is facing the occupier today, to the Syrian Golan, whose people continue to resist the occupier and confront its colonial plans to foil them, referring to Syria’s firm position in standing by the Palestinian people and defending them and their just causes.
For his part, the liberated prisoner, Hassan Fakhreddin, welcomed Archbishop Hanna, stressing that the occupied Syrian Golan and Palestine are in one trench facing an arrogant occupier, pointing out that the people of the Golan have forced the occupation forces to stop bulldozing their land in the Hafayer area a few days ago to set up turbines in new confirmation of their ability to preserve their Syrian land, which will return to the homeland, no matter how long the occupation lasts.
