Archbishop Atallah Hanna: Syria’s Return to Arab League Must be Arab Response to Trump’s Golan Move

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (ST)-Archbishop of Sebastia of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of al-Quds [Jerusalem]  Atallah Hanna has called on all Arabs to stand with Syria against the US President Donald Trump’s recognition of the occupied Syrian Golan as ‘Israeli territory’.

He has said in a newsletter, obtained by the Syria Times e-newspaper, that Syria’s return to the Arab League and inviting President Bashar al-Assad to participate in the forthcoming Arab Summit must be the Arab rapid response to Trump’s move.

“It is neither logical nor justice to see no Arab response following the US move against Syria. We hope that all Arabs will unite in defending Syria and the Arab causes which enemies try to destroy and weaken the Arab nation,” the archbishop asserted during his meeting with a delegation from the Occupied Syrian Golan in al-Quds.

His Eminence saluted the Syrian Golan people who still committed to their homeland and identity, emphasizing that Golan will remain Syrian Arab territory.
