Archbishop of the Armenian Orthodox in Syria Magar Ashkaryan thanked the Syrian State for the care it has provided to the Armenians in the country, pointing out that Syria will continue to be the safe home for all its citizens.
During his meeting on Saturday with Hasakah Governor Louay Sayyouh, Ashkaryan said “our beloved homeland, Syria, has been facing a foreign-backed terrorist war since 2011. However, thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army, supported by the people, the war has failed to achieve its goals.”
“We pray for Syria, hoping that complete victory over terrorism and its supporters will come soon and Syria will restore its stability and security to be the safe home for all its social components,” Ashkaryan added.
For his part, Sayyouh said that the visit of Ashkaryan to Hasakah carries of message of amity and peace and stresses the national cohesion among all the social components of the country.
