Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi says smooth and good cooperation is underway between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, IRNA reported.
Araqchi, who is also Head of the joint commission monitoring the implementation of the 2015 nuclear accord between Tehran and six world powers, said on Tuesday that he had had very good meeting with the IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano.
He said,“Our duty is to eliminate likely obstacles and problems on the way of the JCPOA implementation.’
He went on to say repeated IAEA reports have confirmed that Iran has carefully implemented the JCPOA and has always been adhering to its commitments.
While emphasizing that it does not hold true for the other party completely, Araqchi said, “In the meeting, we reviewed the latest with Iran nuclear facilities, topics on Arak, Fordu, Natanz and the quality of the IAEA inspections and monitoring.”
Araqchi and Helga Schmid, the Secretary General of the European External Action Service (EEAS), will co-chair the 7th Iran-G5+1 Joint Commission Session, to be held at 11:30 hours Vienna times.
That will be the first session of the Commission following coming to power of the new US administration.
