Araqchi Acknowledges Foreign Minister’s Strong Stand In Nuclear Talks

Senior member of the Iranian negotiating team Abbas Araqchi on Saturday acknowledged Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif strong stand in the nuclear talks held in Vienna last week, according to IRNA.

Talking in a gathering by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corpus, he said all should stay vigilant and behave in a way that in case nuclear talks fail no one could dare to accuse Iran of anything.

He noted the main objective of Iran during the nuclear talks was to reject any kind of bullying behavior and that was why it refused to suspend enrichment.

Iran’s key for success is its determination to say no to the six negotiating parties, he said, adding that Iran succeeded to pursue its own goals in line with the international conventions in the current state of affairs.

He said that during the talks Iran followed the strategy of win-win agreement, believing that it should maintain its enrichment and nuclear program without having to endure sanctions.

Araqchi made clear that Tehran just wanted the west to lift sanctions aiming to sabotage Iran’s efforts to vindicate its rights enshrined by Non-Proliferation Treaty.

He said the Geneva agreement enabled Iran to enjoy this right and the west accepted Iran’s right to enrich uranium not above five percent.

He said that in the Middle East region, it is the Zionist regime which is after triggering war because it is scared by a powerful Iran, because, it is not powerful enough to confront the Islamic Republic so it tries to intrigue the US to wage a war against Iran.

That is why, the Zionist lobbies, the Arab circles and the terrorist Mojahedeen Khalq Organization are so extensively active against the Geneva agreement in the US Congress, he said.
