The General Federation of Arab Writers has condemned the murder of the Syrian poet Mohammad Bashir al-Ani and his son by ISIS terrorists in Der Ezzour city last week.
It said in a statement released yesterday that the late poet was committed to his homeland, calling on writers to hold symposiums on April 19 to explain the thinking of the self-proclaimed the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria and that of the other terror organizations that target education, culture, art and creativity.
Last Thursday, ISIS terrorists killed the poet and his son in the city of Der Ezzour two months after they abducted them from their home.
