The General Secretariat of the General Conference of Arab Parties has strongly condemned the massacres of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, calling on the international community to refer Zionist officials to the International Criminal Court for committing war crimes against humanity.
The General Secretariat of the Arab Parties clarified in a statement that the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli occupation has proven that resistance is the only viable option to respond to the aggression and restore rights, calling on all Palestinian parties to strengthen the unity of ranks and reject division to strengthen confrontation and achieve victory over the Zionist enemy.
The statement stated that the blessed Palestinian uprising proved that all attempts to undermine the Palestinian cause have fallen, and all hostile media efforts and campaigns funded by hundreds of millions of dollars have not succeeded in igniting Arab consciousness to separate from this sacred cause and the nation’s issues, but rather strengthened the nation’s youth attachment to these national constants.
In the same context, China, Tunisia and Norway expressed in a joint statement their deep concern over the continued Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip and attacks on the occupied Palestinian territories, calling for an end to the aggression and respect for the status quo of occupied Jerusalem.
Norway’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Mona Gul, said during a joint press conference with her Tunisian and Chinese counterparts at the UN Security Council headquarters in New York today: “The three countries demand an immediate end to all acts of violence, provocations, incitement, acts of destruction and displacement plans,” adding: “ We call on all parties to work to reduce tension and violence. We reiterate our support for the two-state solution through negotiation in accordance with United Nations resolutions and international law. We call for intensifying and accelerating diplomatic efforts and providing support to achieve this goal.”
In turn, China’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, reiterated his country’s support for reviving the settlement process between the Palestinians and Israel, saying: “It is clear that without a just settlement of the Palestinian issue there will be no real peace,” calling on the Security Council to assume its responsibilities in this regard.
China, Tunisia and Norway called for an emergency open session of the UN Security Council that took place earlier on Sunday to discuss developments in the situation in the Palestinian territories in light of the continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
