Arab Parliamentary Union stresses need to provide necessary support for Syria in its war on terrorism and extremism

The presidency of the Arab Parliamentary Union strongly condemned the policy of double standards pursued by the United States of America in the world, stressing that this policy never gives Washington the right to judge human rights, whether in Arab countries or others.

In a statement on Thursday, the presidency was surprised by the report issued by the US Department of State on human rights in Syria on the 22nd of last month, expressing its firm solidarity with the Syrian Arab Republic and its support for all actions taken to preserve its national social fabric and the security and stability of its citizens and to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Union Presidency stressed the need to provide the necessary support for Syria in its war against terrorism and extremism, calling on all Arab countries and regional and international organizations to stand by the Syrian people and their legitimate institutions.

“In the context of these Western campaigns and repeated attempts to exploit the human rights file with the aim of interfering in the internal affairs of states, destabilizing their security and stability and instigating peoples against their legitimate governments, the Arab Parliamentary Union renews its call for respecting the sovereignty of states and not interfering in their internal affairs,” the presidency said in its statement.

The Presidency called for refusing to support and adopt blind bias towards the Zionist entity’s criminal policy against women, children and the elderly in the Gaza Strip. It stressed the need to interact with peoples and vital forces and elites that reject this bias.
