Arab Parliament and Gulf Cooperation Council condemn the Israeli attacks on Syrian territory

The Arab Parliament condemned the attacks of the Israeli occupation entity on Syrian lands, stressing that they are a blatant violation of international laws, charters and norms, and constitute a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and independence.

The Arab Parliament affirmed in a statement today that these barbaric attacks and systematic violations carried out by the occupying entity threaten security and stability in the region, calling on the international community and the UN Security Council to do their part by obliging the occupying entity to stop these violations and withdraw completely from the occupied Syrian territories.

The Arab Parliament also affirmed its position in support of Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. For its part, the Gulf Cooperation Council condemned the Israeli attacks, stressing that they threaten the security and stability of the region.

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jassem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi affirmed that “the ongoing Israeli attacks on Syrian territory represent a flagrant violation of international agreements and laws, and threaten the security and stability of the region.”

The Council’s General Secretariat website quoted Al-Budaiwi as saying in a statement today: “The repeated attacks by the occupation forces confirm their continued approach to undermining the chances of peace and destabilizing the region,” stressing that the international community must move urgently and decisively to put an end to these blatant violations and prevent the escalation of tensions that threaten regional and international security.”

He stressed the need for the occupation forces to withdraw from all occupied Syrian territories, and to respect the relevant Security Council resolutions.
