DAMASCUS,(ST)_Prime Minister has said the valor army’s victories are to continue till weeding out all terrorists and mercenaries on the Syrian territories, stressing key role of Arab Members of Parliament (MPs) and national media in unmasking conspiracy hatched against the Arab nation.
Dr. Wael al-Halqi was speaking as he met a visiting Egyptian delegation including reporters and MPs.
He underscored the Syrian government and people’s determination to confront all challenges including media and economic war, restoration of security and stability to the homeland, building what has been destroyed by the armed terrorist groups, and enhancing requirements of all-out development.
Al-Halqi, in addition, briefed the delegation on steps adopted by the Syrian government as to resolve the crisis under the political plan outlined by President Bashar Al-Assad on January 6th.
“The government is open to all initiatives that guarantee Syria’s sovereignty, independence and unity and reject foreign meddling,” the PM said, adding that reform process was launched in Syria in 2000 through being open to all society’s blocs and amending relevant legislations and laws.
‘Real defender’
The Egyptian delegation said that Syria is being targeted because it is the ‘real defender’ of the Arab nation’s causes and prevents the implementation of the US-Zionist plots in the region.
They hailed the Syrian Arab army’s achievements in al-Qusayr (in the central Homs province) and elsewhere as they (achievements) will lead to victory of Syria and Arabs as well.
Journalists Union’s Head met the delegation
Later on the delegation met Head of Journalists Union, Elias Murad, who confirmed that Syria believes in culture of resistance and the need for supporting it at all levels as a strategic option in order to guarantee the nations’ dignity and restore its usurped rights.
“The decision of cutting off the Syrian TV channels’ broadcast on Arab and Nile satellites has been adopted because they (Syrian channels) have unmasked the conspiracy against Syria,” Murad said.
He made it clear that the armed terrorist groups target journalists in Syria as they uncover crimes being perpetrated by terrorists nationwide.
In the gathering, the attendees also talked about the Arab league’s attitudes towards Syria, citing that the AL has become a tool in the hands of the west.
The Egyptian delegation’s visit to Syria aims to closely see what is going on in it and to explain the real image to the public opinion in Egypt.
