Arab Media Committee discuss establishing an electronic platform to publish media content on Arab issues

The delegates of the Arab countries participating in the 99th session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media, held on Monday in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, with the participation of Syria, discussed the establishment of an electronic platform to publish media content on Arab cooperation and Arab issues, clarify them to public opinion, and refute lies and misinformation about them.

The meeting agreed that the Kingdom of Morocco would design this platform and host its headquarters.

During the meeting, Ahmed Dawa, tge Syrian Assistant Minister of Information, stressed the need that the media content should reflect the collective Arab position.

The meeting also approved proposals related to the Palestinian cause, and considering the city of AlQuds (Jerusalem) as the permanent capital of the Arab media, in addition to stressing that the Arab media broadcast periodic programs on the city of Al-Quds, refuting the lies of the Israeli occupation entity about the city.

The meeting adopted a draft resolution that the Bahraini capital, Manama, will be the capital of Arab media for the year 2024, according to a previous proposal adopted by the 98th session of the committee.

The meeting also discussed the role of the Arab media in confronting the phenomenon of terrorism.

Dawa stressed the need to establish a media honor code that prevents the transformation of some media outlets into platforms for terrorist organizations, in addition to condemning Western measures aimed at restricting media contents that are not consistent with their political and economic orientations.

Moreover, the meeting discussed enhancing the capabilities of Arab media professionals and the extent of the impact of artificial intelligence on the human cadre, and the proposals submitted by some countries in this regard.

It is noteworthy that the 99th regular session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media, held in Morocco today, and the 17th regular session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, which will convene tomorrow, come in preparation for the 53rd regular session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, which will be held on Wednesday, in Rabat.
