Arab League Council condemns Israeli occupation’s attacks on Syria and Lebanon and the gencide in Gaza
The Arab League Council condemned the crimes of genocide committed by the Israeli occupation entity against the Palestinian people, as well as the Israeli attacks on Syrian territories, and the aggression against the Iranian consulate in Damascus in a blatant violation of the rules of the international law. The Council stressed its support for Syria in exercising its right to defend its land and people.
The condemnation came at the conclusion of the Council’s extraordinary meeting on Wednesday at the permanent representatives level at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
The Council affirmed that “the repeated Israeli attacks on the Syrian territory, the most recent of which was the attack that targeted the Iranian consulate headquarters in Damascus on April 1, 2024, are a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, the rules of the international law, and the Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and Consular Relations of 1963.”
The Council reaffirmed all its previous decisions regarding the Palestinian cause, as it is the central cause of the Arab nation, including supporting the Palestinian people’s legitimate struggle against the Israeli occupation and their right to return, self-determination, and establishing an independent Palestinian State with Al-Quds as its capital.
