Arab League: Ben Gvir’s storming of Al-Aqsa is a dangerous escalation

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States condemned the storming of the Israeli occupation government minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, into Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the occupation government’s holding of its weekly meeting inside the tunnels of Al-Buraq Square in the mosque. This comes within the framework of its escalating attempts to change the legal and historical status quo in the mosque.

According to WAFA Agency, the Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and the Occupied Arab Territories at the Arab League, Saeed Abu Ali, confirmed that this incursion, which Ben Gvir committed for the second time, is a condemnable matter and represents a dangerous escalation that will fuel tension and ignite the entire region.

Abu Ali stressed that Al-Aqsa Mosque is a pure place of worship for Muslims, and that any measures taken by “Israel”, the occupying power, are invalid, unreliable and do not entail any right.

Abu Ali indicated that the occupation government continues its escalation and aggression against the Palestinian people and their Islamic and Christian properties and sanctities. He called on the international community to intervene immediately to stop the Israeli aggression, provide the Palestinian people with international protection and support their struggle to obtain their legitimate national rights, and establish their independent, sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital.
