Arab intellectuals: Syria’s return to the Arab League contributes to enhancing joint Arab action

Damascus, (ST) – Syria’s return to the Arab League and its participation in the Arab summit in Jeddah left positive impression on Arab writers and intellectuals and their common vision on the situation of the Arab nation and its future. The intellectuals affirmed that Syria never lost its faith in Arab solidarity, pointing out that the title of the next stage is strengthening cooperation and joint Arab action.

The Head of the Union of Arab Writers Muhammad Al-Hourani affirmed that Syria’s participation during the Jeddah summit captured the interest of the Arab and international public opinion. He pointed out that Syria defended the principles on behalf of the entire nation and it always formed the depth, culture and awareness of Arabism.

The Iraqi writer Abd Al-Ridha Al-Hamid, editor-in-chief of “Al-Sahifa Al-Arabiya” newspaper said that Syria had won its battle against terrorism, indicating that the Arab League has won Syria’s return as it is the beating heart of Arabism.

The poet Issa Darwish pointed out that Syria, despite everything that happened and the terrorist war it was subjected to, has dealt with love and loyalty with the Arab peoples. He stressed that all free Arabs are waiting for Syria’s victory and they witnessed its active presence in the summit.

Dr. Fayez Ezzedine, an Arab intellectual, stated that Syria’s return to the Arab League is an important shift in the Arab system, and will contribute to strengthening the security and stability of the region.

Dr. Al-Shaer Jihad Bakiflouni, a member of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Writers Union, affirmed that Syria has never lost its faith in Arab solidarity even in the darkest circumstances.

“Syria has remained attached to Arabism as a living and renewed belief, and its return to the Arab League strengthens the Arabs and Syria”, Bakiflouni added.
