Arab Group: The Israeli incursion into Syria is a dangerous escalation that threatens regional stability

The Arab Group at the UN Security Council condemned the Israeli attacks on Syria and the incursion into its territory.
It said theses attacks form a blatant violation of international law and an aggression against Syria’s sovereignty.
The Arab Group warned that this dangerous escalation would only fuel tension and conflict in the region.
The Permanent Representative of Jordan to the United Nations, Ambassador Mahmoud Al-Hamoud, said in a statement , delivered on behalf of the Arab Group during a session on the implementation of Resolution 2334 regarding settlement activities and Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian territories that the international community and the Security Council should take immediate action to enforce international law.
He urged them to compel Israel to halt its aggression and withdraw from the Syrian territories it has occupied, in clear violation of the 1974 armistice agreement, according to a report by Jordan’s Al-Mamlaka TV on Sunday.
The Jordanian delegate emphasized the Arab Group’s rejection of Israel’s decision to annex the occupied Syrian Golan and impose its sovereignty over it.
Jordan chairs the Arab Group’s work for the current month of March.
