Arab Forum for Economic and Social Empowerment in Beirut concludes

On Saturday, the work of the Arab Forum for Economic and Social Empowerment concluded in the Lebanese capital, Beirut. 60 young men and women representing 16 Arab countries, including Syria, participated in the Forum.

The Forum, which was organized by the Lebanese Ministry of Youth and Sport in cooperation with UNICEF, is one of the first activities of the “Beirut, the Capital of Arab Youth 2023” event.

The Forum issued a set of recommendations to be submitted to the competent authorities in the Arab League. They included the development of comprehensive policies supporting youth employment in order to obtain decent job opportunities, improving the education system and adding a practical application to it in order to enable youth to obtain the necessary skills at work.

The recommendations stressed the need to provide appropriate work environments and policies that support the participation of persons with disabilities and their inclusion in various sectors, to create job opportunities for youth by identifying the most important skills and how to exploit them for the work that is suitable for the labor market and to create a platform that introduces universities and students to the labor market and its requirements.

The Forum called for learning from crises and turning them into positive opportunities, finding solutions to reduce the burden on the youth, supporting and encouraging entrepreneurship, boosting the economy, reducing migration and preserving youth, energies and skills.
