Arab communist parties call for supporting peoples in anti-terror fight
The Arab Communist Parties have underscored their support for the Syrian and Iraqi peoples in confronting the Takfiri terrorist plan that aims to re-draw the political map of the region.
They said that the plan of hegemony over the Middle East region aims at looting its wealth and hindering its social, democratic and humanitarian progress.
“The American imperialism and its European allies lead the plan that aims at re-drawing the political map of the region in order to end the national role of Syria and fragment it for reaching a new political map that serves the western countries’ plans, which seek to abort the Palestinian cause,” the partiesclarified in a statement released after a meeting held on the sidelines of the 12thsession of the Syrian unified communist partyconference held in Damascus.
The parties called on the public opinion and all national and progressive movements in the world to firmly stand by the Arab peoples in Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Yemen against the imperialist forces’ plans and terrorism and to form an international allianceto combat terrorism and preserve the sovereignty of the countries hit by terrorism, according to the local Tishreen newspaper.
During the opening ceremony of the conference kicked off last Thursday under the title ‘defending homeland and combating terrorism’, Secretary General of the Syrian unified communist party Hnin Nemer referred to the failure of all plans that seek to topple the Syrian state.
Imperialist and Takfiri plots
“The Syrian people who raised the slogan of political solution on the one hand and resistance on the other will go ahead with using all means to combat terrorism and to restore stability to Syria,” he said.
Nemer also indicated that events took place in Syria during the ongoing crisis in the country uncovered the relation between the imperialist and Takfiri plots that seek to undermine Syria and fragment the region.
Syria and Russia have long history
On his part, deputy chairman of media committee in the Russian Duma Valentin Sergeyavic Chorjanov said that Russia and Syria have a long history in fighting imperialist forces. “Today, we [Russia and Syria] stand in the same trench and we are proud of our people, who are fighting side by side with you in this unjust war against terrorism.”
The localal-Thawra newspaper quoted member of the Iraqi Communist Party’s Politburo Bassam Kheder as saying that the conference is being held during a very complicated circumstances in Syria, which is fighting terrorism backed by foreign and international forces.
“The cooperation between Syria, Iraq, Russia and Iran in fighting terrorism is in line with the international law and it is essential to combat this global scourge,” Khder said, adding that the United States of America works for protecting its interests and that of Israel.
Deputy Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine [PFLP] Major-General Abo Ahmad Foad talked about the Syrian state’s support for the Palestinian cause and its firm stances in fighting terrorism and the US-Zionist plot that targets the Syrian people and the country’s unity.
The Syrian Unified Communist Party was founded on October 28, 1924.
