Tehran, (ST) – The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the need for Iran to obtain verifiable guarantees, to ensure that the United States adheres to any new agreement regarding the nuclear negotiations.
Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said during his weekly press conference on Monday that regarding to the Washington’s poor record of adhering to previous agreements and understandings, Iran believes in the necessity of obtaining verifiable guarantees, to ensure that the United States adheres to any new agreement regarding nuclear negotiations.
Regarding the joint statement between Iran and Saudi Arabia, mediated by China, and the details of the resumption of relations, Kanaani indicated that by issuing the statement, we are on our way to return to relations, and preparations are now underway to hold a meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries.
