Anwar Raja to ST: So-Called ‘Arab Spring’ Paved Way for Trump’s Al-Quds Decision

Member of the Political Bureau of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC) has affirmed that the Arab regimes, which have ignited wars in the region under the slogan ‘Arab spring’, have paved the way for US President Donald Trump to declare al-Quds as the capital of Israel.

Anwar Raja said in a statement to Syriatimes newspaper on Wednesday that today’s US recognition of al-Quds as the Zionist enemy’s capital is a completion of the Belfour declaration, which was issued by the British government during World War I announcing support for the establishment of a “national homeland for the Jewish people” in Palestine.

“The US recognition of al-Quds as the Zionist enemy’s capital aims to put the Palestinian cause in the mazes of the century’s bargain that seeks to fragment Palestine geographically and politically and to eliminate all the national rights of the Palestinian people in the light of the collapse of most Arab stances and peoples’ frustration resulted from the so-called Arab Spring,”, he added, asserting that the Popular Intifada [uprising] will save Palestine cause from the attempts of termination.

Raja stressed that the bet on Oslo accords ended and the Palestinian people will press ahead with their resistance with the support of the axis of resistance.

“Victories being realized in Syria are a source of strength and a base for protecting the Palestinian cause from termination projects,” he added.

Raja sent ST a press release issued today by the PFLP-GC to clarify its stance on Trump’s declaration:

The PFLP-GC called for reactivating all forms of resistance by Palestinian factions in order to face the event and its risks.

It also underlined the need to make the current US administration feel that its vital interests in the region are threatened. “This requires a united stance from all active Arab forces without betting on the regimes that have been involved in conspiracy against resistance and its culture.”

Yesterday, the British politician George Galloway said in a post on his facebook page that Donald Trump recognizing occupied “Jerusalem” as the capital of Israel will trigger a political earthquake off the Richer scale in political terms.  It may bring down the crowned heads whose decades of treason have paved the way to this.
