Antonov: Washington’s Lifting Of the Ban on Transferring Weapons To  Azov Terrorist Battalion Reveals  Falsehood Of  Claims About Confronting Terrorism

Washington-(ST)- The Russian Ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, confirmed that the American decision to lift restrictions on the supply of weapons to the Ukrainian terrorist Azov Battalion raises strong discontent and reveals the truth about its claims to confronting terrorism.

RT website quoted Antonov as saying in a statement on Wednesday: “Such steps taken by Washington regarding a terrorist formation show the reality of the American strategy in Ukraine and its approach to combat terrorism,”  noting that “Russia opposes attempts to divide criminals into good and bad, and its position on the necessity of combating terrorism is clear and consistent.”

Antonov pointed out that the current situation, including with regard to the possibility of resuming the supply of weapons to neo-Nazis in Ukraine, reminds us of the unfortunate experience of the United States in the Middle East where it supported terrorists who later turned against it and began threatening the West.

On the other hand, Antonov confirmed that Russian embassy officials in the United States and ordinary diplomats receive threatening messages every day, while the American authorities with their anti-Russian policies do nothing but turn a blind eye to such behavior.

The Russian ambassador added: “Some American states, especially on the West Coast, are witnessing the gathering of groups of Ukrainian immigrants who are being trained and mobilized with toxic propaganda,” pointing out that the American authorities are not moving towards this despite the clear dangers of this continuing terrorist activity which will affect On the United States itself in the future.
