Antonov: Washington takes a ridiculous approach by excluding Russia from the negotiations

Washington, (ST) – The Russian ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov confirmed that Washington is following a ridiculous approach by excluding Russia from the negotiations, and that the Jeddah meeting on Ukraine cannot lead to any result without Russia’s participation.

RT website quoted Antonov as saying in a statement: In the Jeddah meeting, we witnessed another failed attempt on the part of the American administration based on wishing to achieve results, but it did not achieve any diplomatic success. He added that Washington tried to show a beautiful image of the support of the southern countries for it in a new effort to isolate Russia.

Antonov added, “Hence, the expected result of the meeting is the absence of a common position on how to settle the crisis in Ukraine. There was no support at all for the Kiev peace formula,” wondering how to discuss issues related to Russia’s security without taking into account its national interests.

He stressed that Washington is following a ridiculous approach by excluding Russia from the negotiations or accusing it of not wanting to hold them, and pretending to play the role of a sponsor of peace, while sending tanks to Kiev.

Antonov added: It is time for Washington to recognize that this inhumane decision was also the result of the wrong policies of the United States itself.
