Antonov: Washington is trying to use Kiev to put pressure on Moscow

Washington (ST): Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, announced that the US is trying to use Ukraine to put pressure on Russia.

Antonov told RT America that  some political officials want to use Ukraine as a tool to pressure Russia to change Moscow’s independent international and economic policy.  He added, “I do not understand what are the political interests of the US administration in Ukraine, which is very geographically far from America,” noting that some US politicians do not know where Ukraine is.

The Russian-American relations have deteriorated in recent years due to the difference in their positions on resolving international issues, including the Ukrainian crisis, in addition to the US policy of hegemony and interference in the affairs of other countries and their failure to adhere to international law, which Russia strongly opposes.
