Antonov: The Russian-American dialogue is at its lowest level

Washington (ST):  Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov stressed that the political dialogue between Russia and the United States has reached an unprecedented low level.

Russia Today website quoted Anatoly Antonov as saying during an interview with Russian Channel One that “the Russian-American political dialogue is at an unprecedented low level, trust has been undermined and cooperation collapses even in those issues that represent a clear common interest, and communication between the two sides is limited to discussing technical issues.” .

Antonov made it clear that the Russian embassy’s dealings with the American authorities were frozen at the initiative of the American side, pointing out that the strategic dialogue was also suspended at the initiative of Washington on the 25th of last February for an indefinite period.

He added  that arms control is no longer a priority for the US administration against the background of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.
