BEIRUT,(ST)_Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Greek Orthodox Church John X Yazigi renewed his call to find a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria through dialogue and understanding.
In an arrival statement at Beirut ‘s airport from Turkey, on Tuesday , during which he discussed the ongoing contacts for the release of Aleppo ‘s two kidnapped bishops John Ibrahim and Paul Yazigi by an armed terrorist groups, he said : “We always hope to have a solution to the crisis in Syria through dialogue and understanding ,not through violence or any other means inconsistent to peace, amity and coexistence. “
He noted continued contacts with all parties concerned to release the two bishops and that he had discussed with Turkish officials the situation in Syria and efforts to bring peace to Syria and Lebanon .
Meantime, a statement issued by the Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East for Greek Orthodox concerning Patriarch Yazigi to Turkey, said that the patriarch stressed, during the visit, the need for a peaceful solution in Syria and fighting extremism , appealing every one to work with the international community to release the two bishops who are still kidnapped since last April.
On April 22nd , one armed terrorist group kidnapped Bishop Ibrahim, Head of Syriac Orthodox church and Bishop Yazigi head of the Greek Orthodox community while on humanitarian operations in Kafr Na’el village of rural Aleppo.
