Anderson and Smith: Syrian presidential elections constitute a message of victory over terrorism

CANBERRA, (ST)_Australian academic and writer Tim Anderson has underscored that the Syrian presidential elections constitute a message of victory over terrorism.

He said in a letter he sent to the Syrian consulate in Sidney: “The Syrian presidential elections prove that the United States is unable to force the Syrian people to subjugate. These people have resisted the US empire  just as they resisted Roman, Ottoman and French empires.”

Anderson tweeted: “Syria holds presidential elections today. The NATO states which have waged a vicious, dirty war against Syria for a decade say these elections will not be ‘free and fair’. The Syrian people do not look for approval from criminal aggressors.

He saluted the Syrian people, the history and legend.

In the same context, political activist David Smith said that the Syrian presidential elections is a victory for the Syrian people, who have never been defeated.

Today at 7:00 am, the presidential elections started in Syria.
