An Opinion Poll …Majority of Austrians Oppose their Country’s Joining NATO

A new opinion poll conducted by the Austrian Association for European Policy, revealed that the majority of Austrians reject their country being a member of NATO.

According to the survey, the rejection rate among Austrians reached 6 out of 10 people, compared to 2 out of 10 agreeing to this proposition.

These results reflect the escalating popular attitudes in the European countries that reject NATO policies which increase the international conflicts, especially with Russia, which in turn  increases the risks for Europe.

Therefore, the poll showed that a high percentage of Austrians support remaining within the European Union, where 68 percent of respondents expressed their support for this option, despite of the problems and difficulties facing this union.
