Baghdad,(ST)-Iraqi parliamentarian Mansour Al-Baiji called on the government to break ties with the Turkish regime and expel its ambassador from the country.
“The Iraqi government must move seriously by expelling the Turkish ambassador from the country and breaking all commercial and economic relations with Turkey as response to the violations it is doing in our country,” Al-Baiji said in a statement carried by Alsumaria News.
Yesterday, Iraq canceled the visits of all the Turkish regime officials to it, and the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the ambassador of this regime to Baghdad and handed him a protest note on the background of the Turkish forces ’continuing violations of Iraqi lands.
It is noteworthy that the Turkish regime forces have repeatedly violated the sanctity of Iraqi lands. They were stationed at the end of 2015 in the Bashiqa area near the city of Mosul in northern Iraq. The Iraqi government confirms that this constitutes an aggression and a violation of Iraqi sovereignty and is a violation of the rules of international law. The Iraqi government has demanded the withdrawal of Turkish forces.
