An Iranian delegation visits Al-Baath University and reviews areas of cooperation

Homs (ST): Dr. Abdul Basit Al-Khatib, President of Al-Baath University on Tuesday met with an Iranian delegation headed by Dr. Dadash Pour, Assistant Minister of Science, Research and Technology, and Dr. Abolfazl Bagheri Fard, Assistant Minister of Health and Medical Education in Iran. Talks dealt with ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of higher education.

The two sides discussed the possibility of conducting joint scientific research, exchanging experiences and training in various medical specializations, in addition to organizing exchange visits for students and university professors to participate in scientific and cultural activities, especially from the Department of Persian Language in the College of Arts and Humanities at Al-Baath University.

Dr. Al-Khatib gave an overview about Al-Baath University, its faculties, its continuous work in qualifying scientific and research cadres and its developmental, social and cultural role, stressing the importance of boosting the level of scientific and research relations between the two sides in all fields.

He referred to the exchange of experiences between the Syrian and Iranian universities, the conduct of scientific research, training and rehabilitation, and joint cooperation in scientific specializations, research and technical fields.

He also pointed out that 6 agreements were signed with the Iranian side and 30 Syrian lecturers were delegated to Iranian universities.
