An initiative from civil society to light several streets in Damascus with alternative energy

At the initiative of the civil society and in cooperation with Damascus Governorate, the workshops of the Lighting Directorate in the governorate are preparing several streets in the city to be illuminated with alternative energy.

Director of Lighting in Damascus Governorate, Eng. Wissam Muhammad, told SANA reporter that the directorate’s workshops are working to complete the maintenance of all lighting devices, and have installed new devices and LED bulbs in preparation for feeding it with alternative energy through lithium batteries during the coming days. He referred to the start of preparing stands for lighting poles on the Highway  road to install alternative energy devices on them soon.

Muhammad underlined the importance of civil society initiatives, referring to the governorate’s  provision of all the facilities and needs for them and for any volunteer work or initiative that contributes to improving the service reality in the city.
