An explosion targets a convoy of the US occupation forces in Iraq

An explosive device has exploded targeting a convoy carrying logistical support for the American occupation between Hilla and Diwaniyah, south of Baghdad.

“An explosive device that was placed on the highway linking Hilla and Diwaniyah exploded on August 29 targeting a convoy of logistical support to the American occupation forces, without injuries” Alsumaria News website quoted an Iraqi security source as saying. 

 

Another explosion  last week targeted a convoy of the US forces that withdrawing from Taji base in the Ghazaliya area, west of Baghdad, and caused material damage.

On other hand, a missile targeted the Green Zone, which includes the US embassy, in Baghdad.

Alsumaria News website quoted an Iraqi security source as saying in a statement that a missile fell on the Green Zone in Baghdad.

On August 28, the Iraqi Security Media Cell announced that three rockets had landed inside the Green Zone in Baghdad.
