Rural women empowerment has been one of the top priorities of the development program of the Syrian government. This was crystallized in the government’s commitment to consolidating rural women’s role as key partner in all aspects of life.
An exhibition of the rural woman’s products, which was held recently in Mhardeh in Hama province by civil society associations, highlighted the quality of these products, their high specifications as well as their good prices compared to those in the market..
One of the supervisors of the exhibition, Dr. Habib Fallaha told SANA correspondent that rural women, who are productive and supportive of their families, are the pillars of the development process in most societies.
He underscored that Syrian rural women deserve the support and encouragement that this exhibition offers by exhibition and marketing their product.
On her part, a member of “Mhardeh” charity society Shiraz Hammad said that the exhibits from 20 towns and villages in Mhardeh region showcase handicrafts and various food products.
On their part, a number of participants in the exhibition stressed the importance of this experience and the need to expand it during the coming period to achieve the greatest benefit for rural women to empower them financially, pointing out that the exhibition represents an opportunity for them to communicate directly with consumers and improve their income.
It is worth mentioning that part of the exhibits’ proceeds will be allocated to support the families of martyrs and the wounded.
