Amir Abdollahian calls on the West to stop exploiting Human Rights Council to achieve the Western goals
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian called on Western countries to stop exploiting the United Nations Human Rights Council and treat this council as a tool.
Abdollahian, in a meeting about international developments in the field of human rights and Iran’s approach to this, referred to “the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the gross and ongoing violation of the rights of the Palestinian people over decades, and to the comprehensive support by the United States and the West for the occupation and apartheid practiced by the Zionist entity,” calling on “Western countries to stop exploiting the United Nations Human Rights Council as a tool to achieve their goals.”
In a related context, Abdollahian pointed out that “the mechanisms imposed by human rights institutions and created as a result of pressure from a small number of Western countries against Iran have no legal justification or legitimacy.”
